She has an uncanny ability to whip the right candidate out of her hat, leaving us all in awe. How she does it remains a mystery, but Anita calls it intuition (hence SENSE). We suspect it might have something to do with investing a quarter century in building relationships and mastering the art of "good humanship"—but we can neither confirm nor deny this correlation. Anita’s love for recruitment hasn’t waned over the years; in fact, she gets her greatest kicks from partnering with clients on executive and technology appointments across Australia. Her industry knowledge is unmatched, and this is exactly the expertise you want on your side when hiring. Every placement is a story she remembers fondly, knowing that her efforts have made a lasting impact on someone’s professional journey. In 2007, Anita founded Sense Recruitment with a vision to serve Perth’s IT industry and create a team environment where people feel supported and motivated to achieve their goals. Meet Carla, our Lead Recruiter and Operations Manager, who, after swearing she’d never work for a recruitment agency again, found her soul mate in the Sense mantra and has been an integral part of the team ever since. Carla has that rare knack for “getting it” while keeping things refreshingly down to earth—proving that recruiters are human too (who knew?). With a background in banking and finance, coupled with her experience running a recruitment business, Carla joined us to expand our corporate and technology recruitment family. She’s a creative, tenacious professional who values the potential of finding the perfect fit for both businesses and individuals. Having earned her stripes in finance and corporate recruitment, Carla has also caught the tech bug, driving our tech team and embracing the dark side with enthusiasm. Clients find great comfort in Carla’s extensive experience—after 15 years in the industry, she’s walked a mile (or more) in their shoes. There’s no one better placed to find the next pea for their pod, she is credited by her natural flair for building genuine relationships with candidates and clients alike, and while she’s figured out how far a block of chocolate can go in the office (spoiler: not very far), Carla’s also our office prankster. No screen is safe when left unlocked, and her talent for content creation and marketing spreads also to the creation of gifts and cards for the team and is rivaled only by the joy of receiving one of Granny’s knitted jumpers at Christmas. Despite her calm demeanor, Carla’s feet are always madly pedaling under the desk with the heater on. As a mother of five, she’s mastered the art of balancing a busy life and a bustling office. She has single handledly blown out the tea bag budget by 200%, we even had to instal a hot water machine to minimise her kettle waiting time. Voted “most likely to whisper to herself in the corner,” she embodies the saying, “give something you need doing to a busy person.” Carla is our operations guru, this partnered with the uncanny ability to fill a role before you can blink. She’s truly a keeper, always keeping us on our toes and brings a touch of joy to every day.

Meet Samantha Jones, our Queen of Finance and the heartbeat of Sense Recruitment. For 15 years, she's been the wizard behind the scenes, ensuring our contractors get paid, our cash flow is smooth, and the ATO stays happy. Sam’s got a knack for numbers that’s as natural as bees making honey. She’s a pro at keeping our finances in perfect shape—no need for squats or lunges here! Whether it’s organizing novated leases for our contractors or juggling budgets, Sam works her magic to ensure everything runs like clockwork. And when it comes to paying contractors and suppliers, she goes above and beyond to make sure they’re paid on time, often even early. But Sam’s talents don’t stop at spreadsheets. She’s the office’s go-to for everything, from precise reconciliations to a quick hem re-stitch, always ensuring the Sense ship sails smoothly. And yes, you better think twice before printing in color—Sam’s got her eye on that copier! With her dedication to great service and her incredible attention to detail, it’s no wonder she’s been a cherished part of the Sense family for over 15 years.

Introducing Claire, our newest team member and Recruitment Coordinator at Sense. Before joining us, Claire was an one of on-hired contractors at a client site and one of biggest fans on LinkedIn. Her delightful interactions and positive presence convinced us from the start that she’d be a fantastic addition to our team. Little did we know then that Claire’s incredibly funny sense of humor would brighten our days with hilarious glimpses into her home life that make us laugh out loud. From the moment we met Claire, we knew she was a keeper. Her dedication to elevating others and pride in supporting the team quickly made her an invaluable asset. With over 15 years in the recruitment industry, Claire has turned recruitment coordination into an art form. Her great energy, initiative, attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile, combined with her unique blend of professionalism, humor, and dedication, make her a standout member of our Sense team.

Meet Melinda, our Candidate Manager and Sense Recruitment’s first-ever employee, who joined us back in 2007. After an 8-year hiatus, she discovered the grass wasn’t greener and returned to us, as though she’d never been away. Mel brings immense value to both our corporate and technology teams, combining her extensive experience with an unparalleled knack for uncovering the perfect match in even the most challenging searches. Mel has truly mastered the art of the job brief, delivering exceptional results time and time again. Her deep understanding of the roles she recruits for enables her to align candidates and clients with remarkable precision. Renowned for her ability to make clients and candidates alike laugh, there’s something about Mel that gets people talking. Her tenure in technology and genuine care for people means candidates feel comfortable opening up to her, allowing Mel to seamlessly match what a candidate wants with what a client needs. Her service orientation is second to none, always offering insightful suggestions on how we can improve. Though Mel works remotely, her weekly visits to the office are celebrated like special events, bringing a burst of energy and joy to the team.
