With a Master’s in Environmental Design and a well-developed network of industry professionals, she has both the technical understanding of the design and development process as well as an active network and deep-rooted connections within the market developing exceptional relationships with her clients and candidates throughout the industry. Shawna is a Founding Partner of DMC Recruitment Group and is focused in working with her clients and candidates in the Architecture & Design industry working with various search engagements of specific positions throughout North America including; Principal, Director, Senior Architect, Architect, Technologist, Designer, Project Manager and other positions within small to large architecture and engineering design firms within this discipline. The combination of Shawna’s education, experience and passion for design fuels her goals to develop further relationships with her clients and candidates and her focus on developing an educated and reliable recruitment agency specifically in the industries of architecture and design, building materials and construction. Shawna believes in the development of healthy environments and the design of human spaces as cohesive elements of our built environment and how we as humans can develop and build those spaces. Bilingual adventurer, Karine has charted an exciting and varied career path that has led her to the dynamic industry of recruitment. Before becoming the Manager for the Building Materials Division at DMC Recruitment, Karine pursued a professional career as a pilot with Air Canada and Porter Airlines, served in the Canadian Armed Forces, and was an expedition guide in Nunavut. With a diverse work experience, Karine brings her superior emotional intelligence, determination, and tenacity to the recruitment industry. Since 2015, Karine has managed a record of exceptional placements across North America in the building materials industry. She was the recipient of the trophy from the Association of Canadian Search, Employment & Staffing Services(ACSESS) for the province of Quebec in 2023, and she has been standing out as one of the top performers within DMC Recruitment. Karine works closely with manufacturers, distributors, buying groups, and retailers in the building materials industry. She also seeks candidates for roles in architecture & design and construction. With her ability to work across Canada and the United States from coast to coast, she brings a unique capability to access the Quebec and Francophone markets. Outside of work, Karine is a busy mom. When she's not chasing after her two very active children, she dedicates her time to creativity of all kinds and sports

Wes joined the DMC Recruitment team in August 2023 as a marketing and business professional with close to five years experience. Prior to DMC, Wes worked in a wide range of roles in small-large companies, focusing on data analytics, communications, and business development. His current role at DMC Recruitment is directed towards organizing, analyzing, and nurturing the data that our firm interacts with. Away from work, Wes enjoys watching and playing sports, especially soccer, cooking and eating Mexican food, having a laugh at the local comedy club, and most importantly going to the beach for a refreshing swim during the summer.

Annie is an experienced Recruiter with a proven track record of success within the Architecture, Design, and Construction industry. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. Annie also has 14 years of experience in Vancouver, BC as a Commercial Interior Designer, specializing in Workplace and Financial Institutions. With Annie’s experience and well-developed network of industry professionals in both Commercial and Residential sectors, she not only has the technical design knowledge, hands-on project experience, she also has the deep-rooted connections within the market needed to develop exceptional client and candidate relationships. Annie puts her design expertise and industry network to use on a variety of search engagements in the Architecture and Design industry. She has successfully placed positions within both small and large architecture and design firms, including Junior - Senior Interior Designers and Architects as well as Project Coordinators and Project Manager that have established a strong retention rate with the Clients she has placed with. Annie works personally and professionally with both her clients and candidates, creating long-term relationships with key players in the Architecture & Design industries. She is an active member in the Architecture & Design community and regularly attends industry networking events. As a Member of Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia, Annie is constantly developing her skill set and design knowledge to align with the ever-changing market. Prior to her role at DMC Recruitment Group, Annie worked as a Registered Interior Designer at notable firms in Vancouver, such as MCM Interiors, Stantec Architecture, and SSDG Interiors. Annie developed her deep-rooted network not only through work, but also as a member of IDIBC for nearly 20 years. During this time, she served as a Member of IDIBC’s events committee and Newsletter Chair in collaboration with Board Members. As a Canadian with a US degree, Annie experienced firsthand the challenges of breaking into the local A&D industry. As a result, Annie supported design students with their career goals by becoming a “go-to” resource for the industry with her strong labour market knowledge. In 2018, Annie took this passion and pivoted into the Career Development/Employment Services field and received her Career Development Practitioner certificate from Simon Fraser University. Annie has given back to the community by volunteering as an Interior Design mentor in BCIT Student Association’s mentorship program. Having placed design and project candidates in local firms as a career development professional, the A&D Senior Recruitment Consultant role with DMC is the culmination of all of Annie’s skills and strengths as a super connector.
